No top end power

50:1?,i see you plan on your motor not lasting out the year,thats bugger all oil mate,do yourself a favour and run your KX at 32-30:1

Are you serious, I have run 50:1 forever, never had an issue. not sure what your using for oil, maybe you should try something different.

no are you serious!!,you must have a jetting problem if you think you can get it to run cleaner by running bugger all oil in your mix,so you know better than the factory do you!!more oil means more power,longerlasting engine period !!,i even had my jetted spot on KX250 running clean as on 25:1!!i'd rather have more oil than not enough and 50;1 is nowhere near enough lubrication!!

It is almost a 10 year old bike and has been at 50:1 from day one. It has had one top end and no real problems to speak of. I am sure it is time for a top end, I bought it a year ago and figured it needed one, but it ran strong so I let it go. I have put maybe 30 hrs on it. It was running good when I put it away, now it seems flat on the top. It could be a clogged main jet from a bit of gas that didn't make it out when I drained it for all I know. I don't think that 50:1 with good synthetic oil is bad. My 09 ktm 300 xc manual recommended 60:1, it runs great. Re-ringed it at 45 hrs, cleaned the power valve and slapped her back together, it all looked good and every thing was in spec. I think that 32:1 is a bit conservative from the factory, but to each there own. I ride mostly single track woods, if I were going to ride open desert I would want more oil for higher rpms.
P.s. I'm not sure what you mean by "running bugger all oil in your mix"?
Not tryn to be a smart arse, just scratching my head with that one. Please explain.
