Maintenance & Technical > KX500 Steel Frame Conversion (SFC)
sf af 500 pipe
BushPig:
Beware the adapter.... there is a company who does some half decent frame conversions for the KX and they mess it all up by using a stock CR500 pipe and an adapter just like the one you're talking about. The whole pipe gets pushed forward to where the header comes way too close to the front wheel. For my money, I'd be checking if the Service Honda pipe will fit and just make up some brackets to suit.
Cheers,

I have been kicking around the idea of just using a kx 250 pipe. The 250 pipe fits the 500 cylinder and I think by cutting and turning a couple of sections it may fit just fine without changing the tuned leangth. Also I think that it may be a benifit to some of us who are using port timming that is closer to a 250 then a 500.

Some 250 have low port timing numbers compared to other 250 motor stock from factory. The 250 pipe would work with small port tunnel and different stinger diameter. The pipe would produce more pressue and heat in pipe to make the pipe work the best. Best the way the K5 motor is made.
