Hi Im Lance
bansheemaniac:
Hello Everyone i'm lance from pennsylvania.
I have been riding quads and dirtbikes for about 10 years now, mostly quads as im a rather large guy, 6ft 8in 300lbs.
But just last year i picked up a 1996 kx500 with a few mods, and being my first bike it woke me up quite a bit lol. But i think because im bigger, i found it to be quite controllable and a blast to ride. I'd like to place the heart of the beast aka the motor lol into a newer kx250 or cr250 frame, as my buddy who is a very expierienced rider/racer on a kx250 let me ride his bike last fall and i really enjoyed it because it felt less bulky and i was more comfortable with my long legs and huge body. Btw i ride every weekend at/in wellsville ohio aka yellowcreek, the pitts, wellsville etc.
Nice to meet you all
Lance

Ya you should have no problem controlling it, the power band is rather smooth, by smooth i mean it has power everywere and you can tell wen its going to hit, and yes i will be keeping mine for years to come. I had my suspension setup last november 4 my wieght, wow does that help, if i were you i'd do this: take the bike to a nice open field or dirt riding area were you can get used to riding the big kx500, go easy at first on the throttle, then pick it up little at a time get faster, but dont try to master the power all in one session. Take your time you be good.
Remember have fun and wear full protective gear,
Lance
