I didn't mean to get you guys that deeply into an oil disscussion. In answer to Hughes I live in Walker County which is about 25 miles away from Dalton and about the same distance south from Chattanooga,TN. Now a question for don46, Is there a weight number on the redline gear oil that you use and how often do you change it?
fastducky:
Its not the oils or plugs. It's JETTING! Buy a "JD" jet kit and stop worrying about it. I have an 05 and have never fouled a plug and have very little spooge.
$8.00 a quart for oil?........... WOW. I use shell Rotella heavy duty oil in mine(rekluse recommens)$5.00 a gallon !! I race or ride every weekend for the past 2 years and have the original clutch plates in it.
I'll save the money on oil and buy more beer. Rob
P.S Its actually the original plug in my bike also.....I feel a little guilty-lol.

Just an update and to help me get to my 10 posts so I can upload in the gallery, I have searched many sites and do agree that my problem is probably just the jetting. Everyone says the new KX250's are jetted rich. I tried lowering my needle by raising the clip to the first position and it helped a little but still fouled a plug after a cold start. After I get riding it doesn't foul, just after a cool down period when we just start back riding. I have ordered a #45 pilot jet for a starting place since that is what comes in the JD kit. I am going to try that along with switching to the Motul 800 mixed at 40:1. They claim you can run it at 50:1 as the Flying Hawaiian says he runs but I am not brave enough to try it. I am also going to repack my silencer.
