very clean kx500 build

climber05:
Hi everyone. Im just in the process of finishing my all out kx5 build just thought I would share some pictures collect some feed back  from some of the more experienced guys. I started with a 92 with a blown motor piston shattered into the bottom end seized the motor solid. These first few pics are the frame swingarm and linkage powder coated with new moose racing primary chain guide, alba racing chain wheels, msr swing arm bearings, pivot works linkage bearings, and an msr swingarm chain protector.

Next I moved on to the motor. Full bottom end rebuild with tusk clutch all new bearings new crank, hot rods con rod, full seal replacement, offroad innovations cylinder ported just a little, cleaned all the power valves, minura top end gasket kit, zpc sports silicon rad hoses, new aluminum rads, all new fasteners for almost everything, wiesco piston, boyesen factory racing stator cover, driven shift lever, running motul 2stroke trans oil. Uni air filter. Fmf gold series expansion chamber with power core muffler

Next I moved onto a acracing sub frame. I also decided to run a silicon line up above the air box with a mini open element air fiter for cramk case ventilation and installed my moose racing brake lever. Ive called this "the very clean kx5" because I spent more time scrubbing every bolt, nut, and relating component with varsol then actually assembling the bike and I pretty much for the most part bought the best of everything I could get for it. Id like to tell you how much ive spent so far but you would all vomit profusely if I told you. Unfortunetly the riding season in edmonton alberta is short and brisk so I need to get this running and get some hours on it soon. Due to that I will have to use the old beat up plastics:( very sad day but life goes on. The project is far from over. This winter will be all new plastics and decals, excel wheels front and rear, new tires, wavy rotors and new pads, rear shock re build with new spring, ims foot pegs new pins and springs, and definitely a twin chamber fork swap im thinking yzf450?  And advice on that would be golden. Also a steering dampener. Oh and also a magura hydrolic clutch. Im curently waiting on my boyesen rad valve mm grips and pro taper clutch lever to finish it up for this season. If there is anything ive missed please feel free to add it to my list and I will oblige. Thank you for reading. Ill add a pic of the bike when its all back together

So far it looks like you have done a nice job.
Congratulations!
Cost?
That is subjective at best.
What does it cost for a new bike?
You can't go down and buy a new KX500 at your local Kawi dealer for any price.
And then there is the joy of a job well done  :-D

climber05:
Ya thats how I feel about it aswell
