Motorrad gave me a combo that worked very good on my SM with a stock engine.
55/168 stock needle 3rd position.
That has proven itself for me up to 1500 ft...
But as always, beware.... every bike runs a little different.....
I just installed a 41mm carb and that jetting does not work at all...

Good those are good numbers. Being that everything is clean and new and I have no other problems I should beable to start there and hopefully wont have to do to much re jetting. How about those pre ordered jet kits speced out for your bike? I havent heard anything about them. Good idea or bad?

Ok so I finally got it out today and ran it hard through all the gears. Its fast considerably fast. But its not "unridably fast" I expected more to say the least. Either im missing some power somewere or I just thought it would literally be like riding a stupid death rocket. I guess the best way to tell would be to ride a different kx5 and see how it compares. It definitely gets from 0-60 in  the blink of an eye though. It doesnt feel to me like the rear wheel is always trying to get infront of the front one which is what I was lead to believe about this bike. Im thinking a trip to the local dino is in order. I also run a 51 tooth in the dack and a 13 in the front so the torque should be even more intense. Im not sure if im disapointed that its controllable or happy that its actually ridable. Further investigation required I would say.

I went down to a 55 on the pilot didnt help at all it just idles a bit lower. The only problem ive had so far is a broken rad mount on the side I had to force the bottom bolt in. It wasunder some tension so I figured it might fail. Unfortunatly my tig welder doesnt excist so I had to use the good ol' jb welder. But thats alright 60% of the time it works everytime if you know what I mean 8-)
