You know I honestly was going to write about checking the top bolt but never got around to it.The reason why is it happened to a friends KX250,top bolt fell out of the shock but he was on a MX track when it happened(short ride back to the truck).

Brian Brown had a bottom shock bolt fall out once as well, although it was on a KX250.  That is exactly why I disassemble all of my bikes immediately after I pick them up from the dealer, and locktite almost every bolt and nut.  Several are spared the locktite treatement, but not many.  Also, I beleive on some of the older bikes, the top shock bolt is jsut long enough to thread into the mount.  Purchase a bolt about 3/4 inch longer, and add a nut to the bolt for added security.
