That was a scary piston to re-install buddy. I have pulled bikes apart that haven't been rebuilt in 5 years an they didn't look that carboned. What kind of 2 stroke oil are you using? Its way cheaper to put a piston in it than to have a piston failure like was mentioned. I painted a frame once. It was all beat up on the first ride. They have many colors of powder coat that is way more durable and was less than $200. I powder coated my frame black (standard powder coat color) and not so much as a knick in a year.
I had one of those clutch covers too. It looks sweet, but be careful with oil level check screw. It strips out pretty easy. What kind of clutch basket is that, Boysen? That looks pretty sweet too.
im selling the bike and i painted the frame just because it looks alot better to the "hobbist rider". im only going to ride it on the street, just so i dont mass up the paint job. on places where the paint can rub or wear off theres clear vinyl stickers.
i took the pistion to my machine shop, "superior sleeve" and he measured it and said it was ok. so i went with that., and oil, i use mobil one racing 2t mixed about 80/20 with klots just for the smell. their both synthetic.
i was going to have the frame powdercoated but shops around my area we saying it was going to be around 400! my buddy got his frame, subframe, and a few other covers done for about 150. but he lives in bend.
yes its a boysen clutch basket. and selling the bike cause i buying an 06 ktm 250sx for a steal, just can pass it up so this has to go.
