kxtaz:
Biggreenmonster, you dont have to apologize.im glad you posted this topic it gave me a chance to talk about my experience with Eric Gorr.i dont think its right to just go around on different motorcycle forums posting topics trashing a company like ForwardMotion. Now if someone post a topic with subject like this one.I feel obligated to tell of my experience with Eric and his rebuilding service.maybe there's a chance i can save someone from having to go through same problems as me.i only wish someone warned me before i sent him my motor.

i'll be happy to comment on eric's poor building skills as well.i'm quite familiar with eric and i too run my own engine building shop.since i know eric first hand and i've employed his services on a couple of ventures i can tell you that eric will never touch another of my motors.i had him do some work for me on a couple of customers cylinders becuase i was in a little behind and i was trying to give him some business and get my customers motors to them asap. well needless to say his workmanship was less then sparkling.
and i also have had work farmed out to rick peterson motorsports as well ,rick is a great guy they do quality work, the only problem i've had is the price and the fact that he did the work his way and not mine.
if any of you are looking for some serious kx500 power i can help, i use the industries best technology available for cylinder and piston plating. we do bigbore kits and longrod kits.we can go to almost 600cc's.
i was building 640 strokers a while back and i lost my piston order setup and the piston i needed for 640 cc's is no longer available to me without a big chunk of change dished out first. which at this time i don't getenough call for that big of a motor to make it worth my while.
feel free to email me with any questions and i can send you a phone number if you would rather talk in person.

Well, I beg to differ on you guys. But I've had Eric-Gorr do my KX500, CR250, and two of my older CR125's back in the day. And I've never had a complaint. He did a entire motor on my KX, and I would gladly recommend him to anybody. For the quality I've seen in his work for the price?
Sounds like an ad. But, I've been happy with him for about the past 5 years and I used to have him do it through RPM back before too. You are looking at a satisfied customer, and if you want further proof of a great job, ask the folks at DRN (http://www.dirtrider.net/forums) about 99% of the 20,000 members that have had Eric-Gorr do their work on their bikes are 100% satisfied.
Besides, I wouldn't ask another shop in compitetion or take their oppinion worth a d**n. :-( Sorry to bust on ya guys, but I have had too much good by him.
My two cents.

Gowen, I hope Eric pays you for promoting his his backyard mechanic service.a few weeks ago i decided it was time to completely tear down the wr400 motor Eric rebuilt.when i split cases first thing i noticed was torx bolts that hold in bearings didnt show slightest bit of wear.you could tell that they had never been loosened especially since yamaha uses red loctite when they assemble internal parts of motor.theres no way he could of removed every single bolt without torx leaving any kind of mark of any kind.Since i was charged for complete rebuild which included crank and main bearing i decided to call Eric and question him.He tried to tell me he has special torx that fits bolt perfect so it doesnt leave marks.i asked him about rust in motor and all the other problems since he did motor. He pretty much gave me bulls**t escuses and said i should have called him sooner.i then brought motor to 2 different motorcycle shops mechanics at both shops agreed with me that bolts had never been removed.I had one of the shops remove and inspect bearings.he gave me signed document stating he felt bearings had never been removed and connecting rod had never been changed.cause of motor failure was rust and pitting inside bearing races.i talked to Attorney last week showed him my receipts, document written by service technician and rusted bearing.Attorney said i have good case so im getting ready to sue Forward motion[Eric Gorr].attorney had me send my motor with damaged parts Eric supposedly replaced to a Engine Specialist in L.A..Im just waiting for them to send report on there findings before file my lawsuit. As for DRN ,Eric is moderator of there forums.Of course he has 100% positive feedback.thats Because he Deletes any negative posts.I've had him delete mine.If you look up Eric Gorr on thumpertalk forum you will find plenty of unsatisfied customers. As a matter of fact almost half the people that mention Eric Gorr's big bore kits are complaining because of chronic head gaskets leaks since getting big bore kit.Im thinking of posting topic on thumpertalk Maybe i can get ClassAction Suit filed against Mr.Gorr. My Attorney told me that if we can prove Eric charge me for parts and service that i didnt receive .He can be charged for interstate fraud since he advertises over internet and brings in work from outside his State its a Federal Offense. So lets all keep our fingers crossed and hope Eric gets to become a buttbuddy to some big ugly convict named Bubba.
