Eric Gorr big bores!

Biggreenmonster:
Anyone else have an Eric Gorr big bore?Mine is great..also has the "More everywhere" porting.Would not have gotten the overbore but previous owner had never tended to the filter an it rotted and got sucked in for electrofusion execution. Was just wondering and if anyone has,how is it holding up?

kxtaz:
eric gorr did complete motor rebuild on my wr400 which included Hotcams, big bore kit, hotrod crank rebuild.he pretty much screwed the pooch on just about every aspect of rebuild.he didnt replace half the seal and o-rings in motor.motor had chronic head gasket leak from the day i got it back from him.i think he has a dog working as his mechanic because my motor was full of dog hair.he had motor for almost 3 months and must of stored it outside because there was rust all over gears and counter balancer shaft.none of bolts were torqued to spec.I think i had more hours fixing fluid leaks and other problems caused by Eric's poor workmanship than  i actually had riding time before motor blew up.As far as im concerned Eric Gorr Better just stick to writing his books and playing on his website dirt rider.com. and forget about the backyard mechanic service he calls Forward motion.  written by Freestyle111 ,not KXtaz.  if Eric wants to replys to my claims i would love to post some pictures i took about week after i got motor back showing all the rusted parts .

Biggreenmonster:
 Wow,did not know he had a bad rap here at PitBull..Was not trying to start a flame.Sorry for your loss, there is no excuse for screwing up someones pride and joy.I am a mechanic myself and only had him replate and port my KX500 cylinder.I shure wont be sending anything else anytime soon.As far as the other "Forum ,i dont post there anymore vbecause of an idea that was stolen from me......You probably heard about them but i wont say because all eyes are always watching at all forums.I am also a fan of Mcdizzy, technical wise, never had any of his work.anyway I appologize for any upset i may have caused...

alan:
I am real sorry to hear about Eric Gor's work!  I have been recommending him to 2 other groups.  Is there anyone out there that we can recommend for this kind of work?

Alan :D

Rick:
As many on this site are already aware, I ride and race my bikes pretty hard.  We race local, regional, and National events, all in the expert or pro class if offered.  As a result, our bikes take quite a beating.

Two years ago, my oldest son accepted support with a free bike, parts, work, gear, race money, travel money, etc.  from a large Honda dealer.  We had never ridden Honda's, and he was actually competing in the Pro class and Open Expert on a KX500.  In order to keep his number 1 plate, we had his CR250 converted to a CR265 by Rick Petereson Motorsports (http://www.rpmsbigbore.com/repair.htm).  What great work!  They actually did the work on a spare cylinder, and just swapped for our new cylinder, so turn around time was less than 7 days.  We also never had one lick of problem with the Honda (except the suspension was never as good as the KX500, as Acme does not work on Honda'a).

For my current 2002 KX500, I actually have two cylinders.  I swap at the end of each year, and have the spare inspected and plated by RPM.  Also, if I am not mistaken, they do a lot of work for the factory teams.

Highly recommended.  Check out the web page.  I don't think you would be disappointed.

Rick
