Engine number help!

Hi everyone, could anyone point me in the right direction to find out the engine number on my KX 250 1999. I bought this bike a number of years ago and I’m in the process of rebuilding and registering for the road. I need to send Kawasaki UK the VIN & engine number for a certificate of newness. VIN number is all viable on the frame but unfortunately the coolant hose has worn away the last couple of engine numbers (KX250LE00???). Can any one help with retrieving the engine number with the VIN number?

Take it to the police station with your purchase receipt, say what your intentions are (and say you want to ensure it is not stolen) they can q tip/cotton bud  acid on the metal to retrieve the numbers, if it is due to hose wear get that moved! If they do not oblige ask them where to get the acid, not many cops gets asked for acid so be prepared 🤣
