1992 kx 125 2nd gear issue

New to the forum would like to say hey and could use some help here dont know much about the bike I bought it on a whym for a great price I couldn't turn down its a 92 kx 125 when the bike isn't running I can shift all the gear perfectly no issues when the bike is running it will shift in to 1st gear no problem but when you try to shift from first to second you feel a slight grind in the shifter and it won't go but if you get the bike moving in second gear it will go through the rest of the upper gears with out an issue at first I was thinking clutches but realized the guy had the cable way to over adjusted so I fixed that and this issues isn't going away im just seeing if someone can point me in the right direction before I go ahead and split the case to further investigate

Sounds like a internal investigation is needed doc.92 model it due for some tlc.let us know what the examination brings?

Just hunt for a good one on ebay or consider buying a complete box so you're future ready, can always sell on at a later date.
