kwakman:
the 'ONLY' things you need to set the torque on are cyl head bolts, cyl to cases bolts, clutch basket, clutch pressure plate, crank primary drive gear,engine mounting bolts, head stay, and swingarm bolt.(and there'll be some i forgot too)dont ignore the proper torque settings just to get out on it half an hour earlier, no point spending all that dough to break sumthin else cos you didnt set the torque on the relevant parts...... :-o

Thank you very much! just an update everyone that the cases are split and the old crankshaft is out. I do not know if I should replace the bearing and seal that is in the case to the right side. It looks good but I don't know. Also do I have to seal the cases with silicon again when I reseal the cases? Thanks.

Silicone=Bad.

Yamabond 4=good   (honda Bond, Three bond 1194, etc etc)

Replace it! no point in taking the risk...tiny metal shards prob ended up lodged in there!

for the price and how much extra work it is from this point far outweighs the price of having to do it 2 hours after you put the bike back together!

This can be done with no specialist tools.... BUT ALOT of attention.. Heat the case to 200c (use spit test) and freeze the bearings for an hour, cold bearings should drop straight into a hot case with no need for a press, make sure they drop in straight tho.. For instructions look to you tube.

Do not put it back together without replacing the bottom end bearings, its just not worth it and i'd hate to see you have to do all this again!
