To grease or not to grease

Platypus:
Greaser

Hillclimb#42:
"Pro-seal." You don't have to grease anymore. Excellent seal to seal. Less mess. Easier cleanup. Used to grease before I spent the $15.

Grease... a tub seems to last forever and i'm so cheap, I have trouble spending bucks for something that i don't really need... like quick touch fork tube air vent buttons ment to replace your flat head screwdriver. 8-) 8-)
on another note, has anyone used 2-stroke oil to coat there filters( on 2 smokers of course)

I'm not thinking I would use 2t oil for my filter, filter oil has a solvent in the bottle that evarporates and what's left is usually quite sticky. I would think you would pull the 2 t oil through the filter into the motor, but hey, I've been wrong before so lets hear what others have to say. Oh and I use belray filter oil but have been contemplating going to the no toil just for ease of clean up.

GDubb:
I would agree with you don... air filter oil is very tacky where as 2t oil is very slippery. If I had an emergency filter problem and had no filter oil but did have 2t I would use that instead of running a dry filter but deffinitely not as a substitute for filter oil.

P.S.  I use grease on the lip as well
