First Bike for Women
Hillclimb#42:
What do you guys think about getting girlfriends and wives riding? My girlfriend wants to ride and I have some really mixed feelings about it. Especially wondering which bike is ideal for a starter bike. She's 5 foot, 100 lbs, so no way is she gonna be able to handle my 250. The prospect of anyone riding my 500 gives me chills, and I am hesitant to even trail her on it. I am considering a 4 stroke around 100 cc. I also think a slow bike for at least a season, but have not done much shopping in this department. What do your wives and gf's ride. XR's, Big wheel 80's, quads, or what?

Z-Rod's wife rides with us when we dual-sport ride. There are about 4-6 women that ride the big dual-sport meet in Sept./Oct. at Clayton Oklahoma. Here's some pic's... http://www.okdualsport.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=136
Pam rides a Kawasaki Sherpa, they don't make them any more, I think they were 200 cc 4 strokes. 2 of the women ride Suzuki DR 400's.

Hillclimb,
Couple of my ridin buddies have been going starter bike for wife thing over the past few months. One bought a used 05 crf150 and the other a ttr125. They been tagging along at the motocross track riding on the pee wee and vintage tracks at practice. Made alot of progress riding 1-2 days/week over past few months.
Good luck getting them hooked on riding, the more the better

My girlfriend rides a 04 KX 250 2 stroke that we had lowered 1" by WER or Works Enduro Riders. She competes in the B 250 class and is currently in 2nd. Her little 13 year old sister, 5'1", rides a KLX 125L big wheel (DRZ 125). The KLX/DRZ 125 would be a great first bike for your girlfriend. There is also a small wheel version of the KLX/DRZ. :-D
