Paddle Tire air pressure.
air:
Hello guys This being my first post I should say this site is awesome and has all kinds of great info. Just got a quick question of what Air Pressure I should run in my paddle tire. The bike shop I went to to get the tire changed at set it at 15 pounds and I just found this out (4 trips later) Its a Hooker 8 cup paddle and the sand I ride in Is the oregon coast so pretty soft sand I do alot of jumping/fast trail riding. Anyone have suggestions, Ive been reading and heard some people go as low as 6 pounds

The shops allways leave heaps of extra pressure in. They blow them up tight to fit the bead of the tyre to the rim. It is easier to let the pressure out than to pump it up if you have no pump or compressor handy. I have never had a paddle fitted to any bike so I cant say what poundage to run, but if there are no rocks you should be able to get away with it fairly low. I test my pressures by pushing my thumb into the middle of the tyre. If I can push it in about 10mm with a not to solid press its feels right for me. Get a cheap tyre pressure guage. Even better.
