Premix

yzmike:
Hi,read some discussion on castor, and Ive found that there is a trade off, good ring seal but very hard carbon! This really fouls the power valve and robs performance. Also separates from the gas within 24 hrs. I use Belray H1R at 50 to 1,only because I cant get Amsoil in San Antonio,no dealer! I heard that Redline makes a superb premix oil,no dealer here.I really like my KX 5,but the front springs are too stiff, tell me what to do?  thanks, yzmike.

Paul:
Castor is BAD stuff... sticky rings and power valves and YES diamond like carbon. I just pulled the topend off my spare engine (a 2000 KX500) that has only been run on SuperM since day one and there was no carbon to speak of in there.

Springs... if they are stock then you must weigh close to 130lbs for them to be too stiff. My 2001 had the problem of too soft a spring compensated with too stiff a shim stack.

mikesmith:
I talked to Maxima about the 927 I was running(like you said lots of hard carbon)they said its a better pre-mix at high temps, but for 80% of riders Super-M is good enough. So unless you tear down your top end after every race Id use Super-M.I notice far less spooge at 40-1,and as you said there should be less carbon when I do a top end.I miss the smell of 927 though!

biscuit:
Try MOTUL 2T 800 this stuff is just the "dog's knob"

MarkNZ:
I have to agree Motul 800 is the Dogs Bollocks indeed. Real Spoozy, and I back it up by 5 Years of Zero problems. Still does'nt puff 'n smell as nice as the castrol R........
