As far as I understand it, it is made to smooth out the power delivery of the engine, making a little less wild and also a little less easy to stall. Good for technical riding like rock gardens or single track woods riding etc.

SOHC:
I can see someone has removed something from the rotor with the magnets, it must have had a steel disk riveted to it at some stage. 

SOHC:
One question are the front engine plates steel or aluminum for my bike? they were missing but I got some KDX ones and they are steel.

SOHC:
I got my replated exchange cylinder, its the wrong one,  :-(

SOHC:
I got this power-valve governor rod on ebay, its brand new :)

 

Also I got a new set of steering bearings and put my front end on, and rear shock and s**t is going back together.
