Mudflap
sniper1:
Thanks a ton 89kaw I can cancel this flap if yours isn't 5.5" from bolt to bolt since I ordered an 89 :)
1989kawasaki:
the air box is exactly the same from the 88 89 kx250 on the kx500 , so your measurement will be exactly the same.
(if that saves you time)
sniper1:
I don't know if that will help or not since it's the distance between the bolts that is causing problems and I have tried several other years kx250 and they do not fit the holes are closer together on some years of 250 but their airbox may be the same I'm not sure.
This is the UFO it's for a 91-99 KX250 but bike bandit had it listed as fitting the kx500 but as you can see it does not but the airbox may be the same size at the k5 it doesn't matter because the bolts are so far apart.
This acerbis is for a 03-07 kx 250 but cheap cycle parts had it listed as fitting my kx 500 but as you can see it does no and the airbox on the 250 may be the same but the bolts are farther apart and both of these kx250 mud flaps are too narrow by a lot.
Polar-Bus:
not to rub salt, but this is exactly why I don't dick around with aftermarkets. My ice studs destroyed my mud flap this past winter, and simply ordered OEM and bolted it in... end of story.
But I do agree OEM is expensive....
sniper1:
Yeah I've hit a few bumps in the road but so far all of them have been worked out and just think how much better off the other guys are with the information that we can provide after going through different parts lol no worries bus I know there is one out there that will fit it and by god I'll find it if it kills me or I have a pile of mud flaps to sell on ebay :)
The 88-89 kx250 is supposed to fit but we'll see about that and the OEM flap was like paper compared to the UFO and acerbis flaps much much thicker and a lot cheaper plus I have to have that black flap :)
