back in the saddle again
« on: June 15, 2011, 04:36:57 PM »
wow, this is an awesome site!! i have been looking around for a few days, so i finally had to figure out how to post. i bought an 87 k5 last year, after not having ridden a motorcycle for 20+ years! the last bikes i had were an 85 k5 i bought brand new,and an XS eleven i bought at the repo barn. a lot of good memories from those bikes! looking forward to more with the 87. i hope i can find enough info to help  me beat my son-in-laws cr5 up the hill. he has been spanking me so far.

Welcome To the Forum Mr.T,
You are in good company my friend, I couldn't tell you how many guys have an intro with a hiatus and great memories of riding years ago.
I'm sure the guys will want to know what all you have done to the bike and current condition.
Snoop around a bit and see what looks interesting as far as mods.
You would be surprised at how well the old KX runs with the engine freshened up to stock or close to it condition.
Glad to have you with us.

Welcome! I'm in the same situation as you. Did my last race in -90 and started again last year. My last my back them was a K5 -87... Now I have a "new" one.. From -89!! First ride was really nice. A big smile over the face but some pain in the body the days after.
