From what I've heard, aviation fuel is designed for high altitude (Duhh!!), high RPM engine operation. There are so many myths out there about the type of fuel you can run. However, I run a trip down to Baja every year with some of the best riders on the planet. Year after year, the first guy into San Felipe runs a Husaberg four stroke running 100 octane aviation fuel that he purchases at his local airstrip. So I'm thinking, if this guy runs that on such a high compression engine as the Husagerg, it must be OK. From that, I would support the use of aviation fuel in any 4-stroke. However, we are talking about two strokes here. So, I requested literature from VP Racing Fuels on all of their racing products. Any would you guess what they recommend fo two stroke race bikes..... 110 Octane Leaded Gasoline. Sounds alot like aviation fuel to me
? You make the call.. I pay $6 a gallon from VP.. My father in law who owns a plane pays $3.50 a gallon for probably the same stuff at the air strip.... Go figure..
