Most guys I ride with these days say I am as old as the dirt! Well I am almost 57 and I have been riding bikes for 43 years the last 35 years in the dirt and 32 years of that on big bore 2 strokes. I love ridding the soft sand or climbing hills. I am not much into trail ridding, I just like breaking new ground and I like keeping it on the ground sliding around cactus and mesquite bushes and catching jack rabbits.
I have owned a lot of 2 strokes, I started out on a Hodaka, 360Yam, 250 Montessa Cappra, YZ250 , 501 Maico, 2 SC 500 Yam's, Bultaco Alpina 250 & 360, Bultaco 250 Sherpa T, 85 YZ490, and 87 YZ490 which is now my project bike.
I my current toys are 2001 KX500, 87 YZ490, 2000 Montesa 315R Cota 250 trials bike, 2001 Kawi Lacota Sport 300 quad and a 2001Kawi Bayou 220 quad.
(
The boss! ) AKA My wife. My wife says
"You can never have enough motorcycles" ,
God love that women!
I guess I would like to ride some of the new 4 strokes although, I am sure I don't want to own one! After owning the KX500 and the YZ490 What's the point!
"2 STROKES RULE" !
I am still looking for the guy who stole my Bell Star with the knobby prints on it!
