KX500 rider new to kxrider.com but not new to riding...

My name is Mike and I have been riding for the last 40 years.
My favorite current bike is a 2000 KX500.
It has a stock engine with pipe, reed, Suspension by House of Horsepower, Talon hubs, Over sized brake rotor, and other minor mods.
I finally did a top end on it after 10 years of riding it.
I was very surprised to see so little wear.
I guess maintenance does pay.
I have read most of the forum and I really like the atmosphere.
great job to the guys who keep it cool as well as the moderators.
Hopefully I will be able to contribute something worthwhile.

Nice looking bike, I just got an 00' myself.  Is that Little Sahara, Utah?  Great place to ride.  How's that front rib do in the sand?

That is Christmas Valley Oregon.
Riding in soft sand is a measure of little things.
By itself it's not a big improvement, as a good knob does a decent job.
However, when you combine it with a good paddle, proper air pressure, longer raked frame geometry, dialed in suspension, and liberal throttle use, it's a winning combination.

Wow, sweet looking dunes, the Junipers and gray sand reminded me of Little Sahara.  Looks like you just added another dune area to my list of dunes to ride!

Ouch, that break had to of hurt, looks like they used a handle off my weber grill to screw that back together!

Can't wait till I have my K5 looking that good!
