Premix
sbtwo:
Any opinions on Sprectro Golden 2-stroke premix oil? I have used it in the past in a previous 2-stroke life at 50:1 and never an issue. Up until recently, I was solely on 4-strokes so this topic never came up. It is good to hear about everyone's experiences...

I mainly see different piston wear from motor i've done and customer has me rering then after 5 hours and i measure the clearance and look at the piston wear. And these are mostly the same model motor and i get feedback from customer on what oil they run and what ratio they run.

The pump fuel we are getting from the feds is junk now. I run 93 with stabilizer and yamalube R
If i could afford it I would switch back to race fuel and 927

Well stated.
You should NOT run castor based oils with powervalve engines. Castors do offer superior film strengths, but at a cost of excessive "goo" buildup. Castors are primarily used in race kart race engines that don't use power valves.

I read an article once talking about the really high mix ratios with testing done etc... It pretty much said it depends on the application of the motor. They suggested more oil the harder you run the motor and in small motors that are always run hard (125s etc...).
Anyhow, I run dominator 40:1. It doesn't gunk my motor and I prefer to be on the safe side.
