KIPS testing
bob larry:
Hey guys is there any way to test the kips system with the top end in tack?
Remove the cover and test it somehow?
Not sure if it is working.
The bike just isn't hauling like it should...... :?
Danger4u2:
I've never done it but you should be able to remove the cover and rev the engine and see the actuator arm move.
Has anyone tried this??
DoldGuy:
Yes,
Just remove the cover (you will need to remove the pipe,,at least I did) & manually pull the KIPS open and mark the rod with a marker. Start the bike & when you rev the bike you should see the KIPS open. Check to see if you can see the mark you made on the rod to confirm the KIPS is opening fully.
Hope this answers your ?

bob larry:
Perfect! Thanks guys. I will try it tonight.
bob larry:
Well I gave it a try and all is good. Was neat to see it working.
I checked the plug after and it had alot of gas/oil on it.
Maybe the PO had it jetted for a aftermarket exhaust, cause he sold it
to me with the stocker on it.
Where do you guys buy your jet kits? Should I just order from local dealer?
:?
