v force 3 to leave the insert or not?

(1/2) > >>

crazyolbastard:
I got a set of v force 3 reeds and there is a insert that makes the intake track smaller.
Do I leave it in there?

Seems like I should but have to ask.

Thanks all.

BasketCase:
Yep...

Johnniespeed:
My insert is in.

Goat:
The insert smooths out the flow of air/fuel through the reeds. It's best to leave it in. Uncontrolled turbulence is bad = less power. That is also why everyone is putting in the reed spacers. To move the reeds away from the turbulence caused by the piston moving at high rate of speed. I made a 1/4 inch thick spacer just to try the idea and wow what a difference it makes. Eventually I will get a spacer form JFab to compare the difference.

crazyolbastard:
Sounds good.
Thanks for your wisdom Goat.
I`ve been fixing stuff and the forks are next up.
I`ll keep the spacer in mind.

Ride on!
