New to Kxriders.com but not to the almighty 5 hundo
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:14:45 AM »
Hello All,

Just to get things started off this site is truly one off. I am not only a "KX" rider, i bleed green. I currently own a '97 Kx500 and a '94 kx250 with the itch to buy another 500. I also have 2 '98 sxi-pro 750's and a '97 Mojave. My '97 500 is going to be the project of choice this summer... I acquired rims from a '89 or '90 ninja 600, (they were free couldn't pass them up), So i will be trying to fit them on my k5. Not sure if i am going to go full street legal or not. Should be getting the project off the ground and on the stand in the next couple weeks i will be posting throughout the build. Glad to be a part of this excellent website.

Also included a pic of the 5 that will be getting "cleaned up"

Hey JDub,
Pleased to have join in.  I can see it may take a bit of coersion to get you into some type of motorsport but the guys here probably are willing to give you a nudge
There are plenty of folks here who share the need for speed.  Maybe some of the Sumo guys can help with info on wheel swaps and or set-ups.  I have found even the die hard racers and engine builders have been willing to share when traditionally it's not the norm to help out,  possibly giving up an edge.
  Welcome,
  Tuck\o/

Really the only issue i've had with the thing is keeping the front tire on the ground i would guess that is a common issue for anyone who rides these things. Also when i first bought it from my buddy about 6 years ago, on the very first ride i had the handle bars come off in a nice tight turn... Oh well pliers tight ready to go again...

thanks
