Yes, that's how Service Honda did it on my bike.

Thanks that's what I figured. I just didn't want to cut up a good kawi pipe. But I guess that's the only way.

JFab could make your k5 pipe work from what i understand, and it would possibly be a better fit...

Call FMF and ask if you could buy the inlet from them for the KX500.  Save that stock pipe.

So I called FMF and they said NO WAY on selling me just the inlet or a pipe. Said they have a contract w/Service Honda and that they are not allowed to.  Guess I cut the stock pipe unless somone has a dented up one to trade.

Do you just need the part of the pipe with the O-ring grooves?

Larry,
They need about the first 2 inches of the pipe. If you were to turn a part, make it pipe dia. past the "O" ring grooves. SH uses about 4 inches if memory serves. I can look at one of there pipes tomorrow and even post a pic. Make many!  grin

From my Service Honda 2008 KX500AF, KXF450 chassis.
In the second picture, right of the end of the tape you can see where
they cut off a Honda mount or had to beat in the pipe for clearance
and then welded.

Hi guys does anyone know if pro circuit has made a pipe for the kx500af?

Im pretty sure the fmf pipe for the service honda kx500af has been done by fmf to fit, but i cant seem to find a pro circuit one.

I have seen a video of ryan capes doing a record jump on a kx500af and it looks like that might have a works pro circuit pipe on it.

If i cant find one i think i will just make one from a cr500 to fit in my kx250 frame. I just didnt want to have to dent it to get it around the motor.  undecided

On a side note has anyone notice much loss of power from the cr500 pipe with the dent?
I know when i stacked my bike and dented the pipe it ran alot worse, but that was a big dent.
