V2 screws coming loose

(1/2) > >>

martinfan30:
I have been constantly thinking about if the screws on the V2 reeds ever work loose? Has anyone lost an engine due to ingesting a screw?

stewart:
never heard off one coming out

BDI:
I haven't heard of that. I have had mine for years and have not ever had a prob. The stock reeds have screws in them also. The screws on the V2 go into plastic, Do to the fact that the holes are unthreaded it acts like a nylock nut. I think the only way you would have something to worry about is if the screws have been taken in and out a whole bunch of times.

kaw rider:
Like Brian is saying on the cylinder reed motor it not really a problem, but on the case reed motor it is a problem. Most guy will replace reeds once then get new cages after that. My buddy lost 5 motor because of the screws coming loose within  2 years. That why i don't run the v-2 in my motor, only V-3.

cbxracer30:
None of the guys I Know have had this problem. We've had reeds come apart and the only time I replaced my reed on the V2 I locktited the screws before replacing them. Blue locktite good stuff.CBX
