1999 kx250 jetting??
« on: April 26, 2009, 02:34:43 AM »
So I finally got to ride this bike.  Went through the break in pretty well.  Then the key for the fly wheel snapped.  I got a new one and installed it.  At first it would not kick over.  IT finally did and it revved out of control (I had to put it in gear and dump the clutch to shut it off)  I finally got the idle back down but its still pretty high.  Also the airscrew is turn all the way in (0 turns out) and it wont run unless its all the way in and it still sounds lean.  Any thoughts on this?  Any help appreciated.

Remove the carb and clean, pay special attention to the pilot circuit, you also want to confirm no air leaks on the motor (leak down test/ that will make BDI proud :-D). Let us know what you find.

Heres the follow-up. I didn't have access to a leak down tester.  So i went through the list of possible causes.  It ended up being a cracked airboot.  Its all set now, this thing is a monster.  Its a lot quicker and I think it handles better than my yz250 for sure.
