Hey all, glad to be here from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Great riding up here, semi-desert to forested, tight to wide-open, 1500-6000'. I ride a '91 KX5 with FMF Fatty, Turbine Core can, Boyesen graphite reeds, tapered Fly bars (high cr bend), tall seat, IMS 3.6 tank, Devol rad guards. At 6' 5" 250 lbs., 44 years old, the 5 is just right, although a bit of a handful in REALLY tight stuff. Jetted leaner than stock with 55 pilot, dropped needle (2nd from top), main 162 in summer, 165 or 168 in off-season depending on temp and elevation.

Welcome to PBR. You ever put ice-cutter on that thing and take off on a frozen lake bed? :?: :!:

Hey Ken,

Greeting from AZ and welcome to the site! We have lots of cacti, rocks, more rocks, great singletrack and did I mention rocks?!!     Forests too if you travel just a wee bit north...and sand a bit south...ok, we have just about everything!

Still, I bet it is absolutely beautiful up there! Actually, I know...I have relatives in BC.

Kick back, relax and post away! :D

Hi All,
I have been enjoying this forum very much.  Lots of nice people and good info.  I am also from Kamloops, British Columbia Canada (pop. 70K).  I'll have to try to hook up with Ken for a ride.  I ride a stock '92 with .42 springs in the front, boysens and a  homade aluminum skid plate & sharkfin.  I'm 43 years old, 5'10" 200 lb and been riding for 32 years, raced for 15 or so.  Was provincial intermediate 500cc MX champ way back in '79.  Raced in the Kingdome a couple of time. Now I'm totally washed up and slow.  Actually raced bikes like huskys, montessas and maicos way back when.  Kamloops has deluxe riding.  Base elevation is 1100ft but you can go from mud to sand to snow to above tree line in one ride.  Most people don't realize it but Kamloops is a desert area (supposedly the northern most tip of the Mojave or something like that) with it own cactuses (OK so they're small).  Great riding is about 10min from my house.  I'm jetted leaner on the bottom with a 58 pilot, needle clip at the top and stock 168 main.  Wife and 2 kids all have bikes.  My biggest challenge is getting used to taking big air again.  Been tempted to stud up the KX and get back out on the ice (there is a winter race series) but I end up skiing lots instead.
