If you change your pre mix ratio you are also changing your jetting. Less oil means you are putting more gas in the engine by doing this you are making the jetting richer and the engine will run cooler.

Stock,
50:1 is a great all around ratio. In the mid-70's I ran 32:1 with mineral oil and had lots of oil caused failures. As soon as synthetic 2-cycle oil came out my oil failure caused engine failures went down to zilch. I ran the original Belray MC-1 at 85:1 and now use a sedate 60:1. My outboard uses yamalube at 100:1 and my 2 stroke road race bike used Amsoil at 100:1. Amsoil is a geat oil and at 50:1 I would have no worries. Cam.

i found this in the back of my 98 KTM manual

Oil / gasoline ratio 1:40 ? 1:60 when using high grade two stroke oil. When in doupt, please contact your importer or use 1:40 mix ratio to be on the safe side

The Amsoil Tech swore that they would pay the repair bill if I loose my motor because of lubrication issues. I bet it would be like pulling teeth to get the money from them, but I have never had any issue with there oil. It seems that 32:1 is old news, and thanks for all the feedback.
