what premix and what ratio
KXT500:
i just bought a KX5 and need to know what to run. The previous owner ran Penzoil at 40:1. I have a cr500 and would never put penzoil in it :?
I have always ran PJ1 goldfire synthetic at 40:1 but i am concerened about the powervalves on the kx.
so what is the best?
Uzi9mm:
A lot of guys like Bel Ray H1R synthetic. Its supposed to lube well and burn clean to help prevent buildup on the powervalve. My KX500 manual (2002) says to mix at 32:1 but a lot of riders are mixing at 40:1. I don't know whats best, I try to use recommendations from credible sources and read as many reviews as possible. I use Bel Ray H1R Synthetic at 32:1 for now. Good luck.
BDI:
40:1 since 1991 no problems yet. who knows maybe something will rear it's ugly head some time in the next 17 years . I'm running maxximas K2 full sen It is an ester based oil just like H1r and as far as I can tell by looking, smelling and tasting it, it is the same stuff in a different bottle.
Danger4u2:
2004 and a 2003 K5- Bel Ray H1R Synthetic at 40:1.
Hillclimb#42:
44:1 with Klotz synthetic. PJ1 is good old school oil tho. Synthetics perform alot better IMO, or I believe they would have kept working on the formula. I think ur new pony will be fine with your ratio and oil.
