KX250 head volume

Anyone know how many cc's a stock KX250 head has? I bought a used head and with only a light clean-up its cranking 225psi on my '98 cylinder... seems kinda high to me... squish is aproximately .045 as best I can figure with .062 solder.. I am using wiseco gaskets... .010 on the head and base... Is this too much compression? I have nothing against running 110...

It will be a runner with that much compression but If you are getting .045 on the solder I bet you have .025 of actual squish clearance.

I will go ahead and try it out then... I was just worried it may be compression bound with 225psi and not want to rev :?.... I will not have any basis for comparison as I have never ran this motor before... I have read that they dont have much top-end anyway, plus I am using a kdx ignition, kdx pipe(fmf), and kdx trans...So I really dont know what to expect... I read the thread about how you check your squish clearances... That is a pretty sweet tool that you made.  I think I may end up making one soon, But for this motor I am just going to get some smaller solder, re-check, and hope for the best :lol:... I ran my well seasoned(worn) suzuki quadracer at .040 according to this same solder with no clearance issues...and this engine is fresh...

       From what I understand from people In the know this is a myth. High compression will not stop an engine from revving high. If you think about it the piston is pushed down with more force. physics say the piston is going to come back up with with more force, no way around it.
