Don't be in too big of a hurry to shell out the dough, Cantab. If the cylinder is not wasted, honing and replate is all that you need. That is all the same guy. You can save yourself a bunch by only having that work done. Order the parts for a top end kit yourself, and avoid his mark up and labor. You could also have them clean the powervalve while there.
Re-sleeves or boring is really only necassary for badly damaged cylinders, usually leaned out and blown. When I hear that someone is bored out way over stock, I wonder if they blew it up. It is all still ok, but the crank could be damaged in that situation and needs to be checked.
