I'm New.
« on: October 28, 2007, 04:10:04 PM »
Hey I just bought my first KX a week ago.  I was able to find a sweet 2004 KX500 with the original back tire and bone stock.  I am excited to find this site.  I am a bigger guy 6' 5'' and about 300lbs so I have orderd stiffer shock and fork springs.  I plan on running Amsoil thoughout, (I had great success with Amsoil in my snomobile).  I need to get a paddle and get out.  Any hints will be great.  I plan on keeping the motor stock.  I am not the guy that likes an out of control bike.  I like having lots of power on tap, but for my size the 500 in stock form is great, and I can not see myself ever running out of power at the dunes.  I am in the Salt Lake City area, so if any of you want to hit the sand let me know.

I plan on using the interceptor from Amsoil, it is formulated for use in vehicles with exhaust valves.  I had great luck with when I ran it in my snowmobile.  Amsoil swears that the premix ratio is 50:1 in normal conditions.  I thought that was pretty lean so I call tech support, and the person I spoke with assured me that it was not to lean.  I know that it protects well, so I am going to run 50:1 and hope thay are right, and I don't burn her down.  I am 100% stock.
