KX 250 plastic -Upgrade to newer?
« on: July 23, 2007, 06:55:23 AM »
Hei there, my first topic  :-o

Wonder if someone here has upgraded the plastic to -01 to -07 on a Kx250 -93?

Ive heard from an local shop that you can try the kx250 -07 plastic in the front (fender?) with some modifications. I think the new plastics is lot more awesome designed. OF course the side panels wont work but maybe the bak and front plastic?

Best regards

Johan from Sweden

I'm pretty sure the ufo front fender will bolt on. I bought a front fender for a '07 kx 450f and it bolted right on to my '03 kx 250. I then took it off and it bolted right on to my '91 kx 500. the back fender will probably not fit without a lot of tweaking.

Any front fender will mount up, but you should stick with your own year of rear fenders and number plates. Bikes' plastic is way different every 2-3 years. Whether its longer or shorter seats, changes in the airbox or subframe, there's way too much to get there. The rear fender has to bolt up tight to airbox to prevent excess water and dirt from getting to the filter.
I think different plastic companies have slightly different looks available. Not positive about years. Try a color change with a graphics set and matching seat cover. It'll look like a brand new one.

The stock style of the 93 kx250 looks pretty good to me. New stock plastic with new graphic's and seat cover like hillclimb said and you'll be jammin.
