Wow- fantastic help, thanks- just read i can use 88-04 piston on my 86 (same as 87). i coldn't find an 86 anywhere and no-one knew if alt piston could be used.

thanks for taking the time to help us 87 owners out,  without knowing what bits you can steal off other years these things are just a nightmare to get parts for on the cheap, at the end of the day i only wanted a chap toy, if i had loads to spend on it then i would of bought a newer one!

I just got an 87 k5er sunday i got an amazing deal i only paid 250 and some labor the bike hauls complete balls and i love it!!!!! im sure i will use the link thanks man and i have a question what oil do u mix with ur gas and whats the ratio i should use?? ive heard 50:1 but my buddy said 32:1 which is better and what pulgs are best B8es or the b8eg???? thanks in advance and i appreciate it alot!!!!
