Does anybody know If 1987 pastic side panels will fill on a 1986?

Hi I was considering replacing my side panels on my 1986 kawasaki kx500 and I have found a cheap set but it says 1987 kx125 250 500 only. I have been looking at pictures and it seems like some 1987 bikes have the older stype panels and some have different ones. Does anybody know? The part number is maier 209073. I can not find this part number on there website and there is nothing for just 1987 bikes either.

Hi now that I am looking on the maier website I see that there have the panels for 1985-1986 and 1988-2004 but nothing for 1987. I am going to try to find a 1987 in the gallery.

Hi it is hard to tell but I think it might work.

I have an 87 listed in the gallery, unsure of a close up picture of the side panels. Let us know what you come up with. From what I have seen is the 86 panels are just alittle diff. but the bolt pattern might be diff. The 86 sub frame is alot diff from the 87 to 04 bikes.
