Hello all This is my first post to this group but I have been reading allot of the information posted here. I have a 1998 KX500 and have had it for about 2 months. I think it is a great bike and have enjoyed riding it to this point. I live in the phoenix area and have recently retired from the Marine Corps. I am starting to ride again now that I have the time. I hope to be able to get some good information from this forum and to maybe be able to contribute to it also. I am just a newbie to the 500.

Paul I live in Buckeye so I do not have to haul my bike around at this time or I should say yet to go ride that will change in the near future though. I hope not to soon though. My friend and I went out last weekend and rode to Palavered and crossed 10 and came back behind the White Tanks we were out for about 4 hours. I love the bike so far.

Ya there is an over abundance of sand but that is not a bad thing. I was supose to go out to Glammis for New Years but we all were sick and could not go. That realy sucked we were out there for Thanksgiving and had a great time. I also have a Kawasaki Mule 610 4x4. That was a blast out there.

Ya I was in the Marine Corps for 20 years and was a crew chief on UH-1 helicopters. I flew from one end to the other many times going to Yuma from North Carolina. There is some very beutifull country in Texas and it was fun to fly over it. I have always liked the desert. Take it easy.
