Hello from Texas
« on: November 07, 2006, 11:07:33 AM »
I found this sight while looking for info about my "new to me" '03 KX250. I found some good stuff on here about setting the bikes up for woods / trail work. I've been riding for most of my life... and since I'm an old fart, that is a looong time.
I recently felt the call of the 2 stroke  :-D and bought the KX. I fell for the great
ergonomics of the bike (I was previously a Yamaha fan ) I had foot surgery
the day after buying it so I have not had time to really ride it yet. The foot's toast for
another 5 weeks..... which is a good thing. I intend a total tear-down of the bike
and a full maintenance rebuild.... just to make sure that everything is where it
should be and that it's all nice and tight.
The bike (motor) sounds good and solid, with very little / no KIPS noise.
It has a PC Works pipe on it with V-force reeds and it's really quick. I might get
a Gnarly for it though to help with the low end needed for woods etc... I'll keep
you all posted on the progress.
