Hi all, I have a 2000 kx500 pretty new still and completly stock. I weigh290 and don't like the 4 stroke 450's keeping close to me, what mods can i make that will give the most power for the buck. I'm getting ready to take it to my Kawi dealer and have some work done like reeds, pipe "pro cir or FMF" ignition and rejet. What would you guys suggest and thanks for any help.

Thanks

Tell us what type of riding are you doing.

rocky:
I don't race tracks just dessert and trail riding.

That's a pretty broad range. Usally desert riders crave top speed running (Top-end) and trail riders want low-end grunt. Either way, for trail riding or low-mid range power, it seems like a good reed spacer and flywheel weight seems to do the trick. Also, sending off the cylinder to be ported to your desired powerband. That is the best mod. Pipes have a small effect on power, but FMF makes a few pipes to the desired powerband. PC also makes good pipes, but have little experience with them.

Let us know what type of power you desire (e.g. smoother power, more torque, more HP, overall HP, topfuel, ect.)

Don't forget a reed spacer! It is the best bang for the buck! :-D
