Hi All from Down under
« on: September 29, 2019, 07:22:16 PM »
Hi All,
Joined the group a month ago, I live in Melbourne Australia and thought it high time I posted something. I have a 83 Kwaka 500 I'm doing up with the help of a local bike shop. Also have an 82 KX 250 which I'm pinching some parts off to finish the 500 and will most likely do it up once I'm finished on the 500. Also have just bought a 2003 500 which I'll ride and eventually moth ball and spruce it back up to original condition.
You could say I'm a bit of MX nutter and have 8 other bikes, not all Green ones, but I did develop my love for the Green machines when I was 10 when I was given my older brothers KX80 to ride, which is still one of my all time best bikes I've ever had.
Love the site and have found interesting information already which I've used to help out in my 83 rebuild.
Looking forward to hopefully adding some information as the time goes,
will post some pictures as they come to light.
thanks and cheers to all,

The 83 KX500 is a cool bike.
They did have some issues with the head.
They respond very nicely to a more modern head cut.
Post pics.
I'm building a 83 as well but am in the "collecting parts" phase right now :-)
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
