New KX500 owner
« on: January 23, 2019, 05:03:56 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Just bought my first real bike, a 1993 KX500 from my next door neighbor.  I live near Ocotillo Wells and after it's cleaned up some, I hope to put quite a few miles on it.  I've been on a few friend's bikes over the years and ride a KTM EXC 500 at work sometimes.  This forum is a great resource!

Hi Premium67, welcome to the site.  You've come to the right place for KX500 knowledge.  If you get a chance, post some pictures of your bike.  Here is a handy guide to posting pictures directly to the site:

Hi mate,
thought I'd just say hallo as I'm new on the site as well. It's funny how some of us come to be the owners of our KXs. Looks like you had a stroke of luck. I've been asking around for a decent two-stroke project for years. In the end I picked one up from a backstreet garage in a big city stuck out in the semi-desert of Mexico. Looks like I'll have to come to the States to get it done up though...which is another thing I've always wanted to do, visit your country. With luck I'll be able to combine the two.
The best thing about the site is that there are KX owners willing to share their knowledge and help out with suggestions and advice. It's a community of people with similar interests from all walks of life spread out around the world - the wonder and benefit of the WWW.
