Looking for a KX 500 1991 bottom end

Bummer...

Coco Cola:
Just didn't want to have to put $1500+ dollars, into a $500.00 beater.

I was told that the motor was was locked up and all it needed was a bottom end.

With the exhaust on the bike, it covered up that area, as I only gave the bike a cursory look.

Just wanted to get it, load it up and get out of there as quickly as possible.

I missed the typical red flags when going to purchase a non running used bike.

1. Was given an address that was actually a few row houses down from his actual residence (this I understood).

2. We had corresponded via text message, only.

3. He had a 1 dated photo of the bike, when it allegedly was running, when I asked for a recent pic, he sent me a video of it from a distance.

4. When I arrived (at what I thought was his residence I tried to call him and it went straight to his voicemail)

I take full responsibility of being 'got' though.

you're not gonna wanna hear it...but either way you go if you decide to fix it up, you're looking at an easy $1500+ on the motor alone to do it without half assin it. All new bearings/seals, crank, cases, replate, top end kit, gasket kit...tac on several more hundred if it needs any tranny parts, such as gears/drum/shafts/forks....or if it needs any KIPS components.
it all depends on how far you wanna take it, and have it be reliable when you're done.

you can always part it out and get some money back.

sandblaster:
If you decide to part it out I'll pay the shipping to get the cases here.
I have a cool display that I want to build.
