Newb from New Zealand

Hi the names luke from the nz, just rebuilding my 2004 kx500 and am looking for some helpful advice and ideas, will post a pick when im done but bike is pretty standard and use it for trailriding

welcome aboard luke...
if you're rebuilding the motor, it would be best to replace every bearing, seal, snap ring, new crank, any/all gears that look questionable, look at the shift forks closely, inspect the clutch plates and springs...I'd just get new clutch springs regardless, fresh re-plate with a Wossner piston and a complete Cometic gasket kit...that would get you started.

thanks for the tips , I am doing crank and all bearings and seals,I replaced clutch kit with springs etc a couple of months ago but 1 question i like to know is  is it better to use sealant or a gasket between crank cases as some gasket sets have a gasket for inbetween crank cases?

I just brought a 540cc barrel and head and piston and gaskets and complete gearbox from a guy in nz who got it from the us from todd and i got it all for a good deal and im real excited cant wait to see what the power is going to be like and i brought a fmf dessert pipe
