izzo intro
« on: March 24, 2014, 07:21:18 AM »
I'm tim... 32 from Warrenton oregon

Used to ride when I was a kid. Grandpa bought me a yamaha 80 or 100 2 stroke, rode that a bit, then had two XR bikes after that. They were stolen... I was out of the game for many years.  Few years ago picked up a honda 300ex and ripped it around the woods out in the sticks... Kind of trails you only know about if you lived in the hills for years lol.

Sold that, picked up a CR125 and scooted on that a bit.  Then finally got THE bike... 99 KX250.  I take it riding out at nicolai, browns camp...  Don't ride on the beach, or at least haven't yet.  Love riding woods

Race tech springs, noleen rebuilt suspension
Boyesen clutch/stator cover, water pump and cover
Boyesen reeds
New tires front and back
Pro circuit pipe
Rebuilt motor
All new bearings, grips, seals, brakes
Excel takasago black rims
gripper seat cover
the list goes on.
I installed a 13oz flywheel weight since I ride trail only
13/51 sprockets
Skid plate
New plastics
new clutch etc

This bike is mean and gets on it.  Love it!!  Tho I wish I was well off enough to buy something with an electric starter lol...

Wow man!!  That thing is clean.  Love it

I have dollar store bottle brush and toilet brush I use to scrub my bike along with dollar store degreaser. works amazing.  I just invested in a smaller softer bristle brush so I can get in the nooks n crannies a bit better.  The bottle brush is too short, and the toilet brush is too hard to squeeze in between things.

I am on the hunt for a cheapo electric pressure washer, but don't mind the scrubbing to much.  I wash every ride, almost spend more time cleaning the girl than riding it lol

I am new to 2 strokes, this is really my first bike that I planned on keeping. My last CR125 was just a cheapo bike i scored for 250 bucks and I harped on it.  So reading is something I do a lot on these bikes, I need to learn how to jet properly tho I think my bike is ok now.  I also picked up a factory manual for this.

that's funny, I've used a toilet brush before too...but I'm more of a fair weather rider these days and don't do much wet mud riding, so I can get away with lightly hitting it with my pressure washer. Be careful using a pressure washer...you can drive the water into the bearings, which
drives out the grease and rusts things up...as long as you don't aim right at the linkage/bearings you'll be ok...and always start it up and let it warm up after washing it too, you're head studs and cylinder studs will thank you

I built the 250 to match it's bigger brother...I really like the 2000 OEM look....

I hear you. I don't ride in the rain much either.  A little mud doesn't bother me.  Don't ride after its rained for a week either lol. I let it dry up a few days.  I don't get to many chances to get out and ride. So I took it and got wet.

I'm up for anytime!  I work odd schedules (not unusual hours, just never the same days off).

I can get you my schedule, we can see if it works out and go riding for a day.  Shoot I want to go now lol.  I am off this Thurs/fri/sat/sunday. Maybe a ride at nicolai?

Just wanted to give a shout out to Alex.

Cool guy!  My clutch cable broke, he sold me one, and a couple other parts. Good guy to deal with.

Hopefully we can go catch a ride together soon man.

Last ride I went on, then the cable broke :|  Also, pulled out the BR8ES and threw in an iridium plug.  I don't mind running the br8es plugs but had a few extra bucks on me and got the 10 dollar one.  I keep this old one in my backpack since I know it works

My youngest, he likes to sit on it. Trying to find him a PW50 to rip around on with me, till he gets some experience.. Then maybe bump him up to a XR80 and so on.
