87 KX 250 throttle cable question
« on: September 06, 2013, 05:28:20 AM »
Hello all, long time listener, first time caller...

I purchased an 87 KX 250 this summer on the cheap, did a top end rebuild, and the thing runs like a champ.

I've now found out that it has a Mikuni TM carb on it (not OEM?), with a square slide and is tapped to accept a threaded throttle cable jacket. My issue is that the bike still has the OEM throttle cable, which does not have a threaded end.

Most places I've looked, I can only get OEM type cables, which do not have the threaded jacket end for the top of the carb. I'm not too sure how to go about finding one of these.

Any help would be appreciated.
