1985 KX250D1 Restoration
« on: August 30, 2013, 09:41:11 PM »
Hey everyone, here a a couple of pics of the KX resto I have been working on. It isn't a perfect NOS nut and bolt perfect restoration, but I tried to make it as good as new with my budget and with what parts are available.

I bought this on EBay and paid way too much. Pretty much replaced everything except the frame, shock and rear hub. Sourced what NOS I could find as well as nice second hand bits. I have had it running but haven't ridden it, and probably won't. My local Kawasaki Dealer who helped me with a lot of parts wants to display there so that will be where it goes for a while. I will post up some more and better pics when I take it out in the sun.

Here is what I bought,

The rear rim with tyre removed :-o

And here it is now, much better than when it entered the garage,

I will update this thread with more pics shortly.

Cheers
Adam

hahaha....I have never seen a rim that deteriorated in my life....I wouldn't want be a rider nor spectator when that thing lands off a double/triple .

Absolutlely beautiful resto Adam!...I wouldn't want to ride it either...it would get hung from one of my cathedral beams in my living room.
Hope to see some close-up pics.

Was a nice day here yesterday, so out she came for some pics.

Looks like it is going to go to the local Kawasaki Dealer to go on display in the window.

Cheers
Adam
