Kawasaki sucks at producing parts for bikes older than 10 yrs

89: you raise a good point.

Are there other manufacturers who keep more parts around for older bikes? What about your CR250? Was it tough getting parts for that one?

So....

What about Honda?

Yamaha?

Suzuki?

yep ...cms has still tons of oem-parts...   :-).. but my thought is, why an very expensive oem-filter, when you can buy 3-4 aftermarket filters for the same money, that will do exactly the same work!

ktm for example has twin air-filters in stock...  in aftermarket, you can buy exactly the same twin air filter like the oem .. the diferance is the package and higher price...   8-)
big 2 stroke bikes are weapons for real men, who don´t fear death or devil. ;O)
´83 kx250, ´87 kx250 (with 360 big bore), 87 kx500, ´93 kx500 sfc

For my 89 cr250 All the oem parts even NOS (discontinued) oem parts were a piece of cake to get. But the nos parts cost a ton. And the oem parts that are available from Honda were dirt cheap.

end result is a %100 stock oem bike. (yes it is an 89 with 87 forks)

As much as I'd love to order it. It's an $18 part. On this site with shipping from the UK, it will cost me just over $80. I'm not sure I want a new piece of rubber that bad.

I sent you 12 pics.
The first 6 are as the boot came off the box.
The last 12 are after a quickie wipe down and some vinyl protectant.
It's not perfect as it is how old?
But it has no cracks or checking and will work just fine.
